Pros
 Quiet well-kept street
 nice stone and entranceway in front
 Good walking area (not too many cars + hills give better exercise)
 some very tall (ash?) trees loom behind house (nice shade but may be dangerous)
 stone walls need work around driveway
 Maintenance-free plants in front yard
 Some nice-sized bright rooms downstairs
 nice bathrooms

Cons

 Steps to front may be difficult for some people or circumstances (e.g. baby stroller)
 Lots of unfinished work
 tiny hallway between the front doir and kitchen

How to spend $12,000

Q:

If you were going to live here and received a $12,000 gift card, good for any product or service, what would you repair, upgrade or add? Why?

A:If not taking down those potentially dangerous* trees, I’d hire an arborist to inspect them every year. *emerald ash borer problem in NJ There will be much more than $12,000 needed to finish this house, but in that budget I’d probably prepare and paint every wall.

This is a very unique home on the inside. Tons of potential, but it will take some vision, willpower and $$ to get there. There is an incredible blend of styles and materials from one floor to another. The front door is thick, heavy and high-end, while the joint compound in the stairwell leading to the attic isn’t even sanded. I’m not giving a smell & odor rating because there were candles burning and the basement has an in-progress model boat (glue, polyethylene, etc).
